What is a subdivision or a land development?
If you want to divide an existing lot, tract, or parcel into two or more lots, or if you want to change the boundary line between lots, it is probably a subdivision. Many lot improvements associated with new subdivisions such as dwellings and streets are land developments. The typical improvements made by individual home owners such as additions, barns and fences, or the construction of a single family dwelling on an existing lot, are not usually considered land developments but often require permits. Consult the Zoning Officer and the Wallace Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance for specific language and details.

All subdivisions and land developments must be described in plans prepared by qualified professional engineers and approved by the Board of Supervisors. Applications for approval and information on application fees may be obtained from the Township Secretary.
